THE QUALITIES WE LOOK FOR IN OUR TEACHERS

energy & enthusiasm: You need the 'get-up-and-go' to organise and lead the classes, and you must be enthusiastic about Musical Steps and the benefits of making music with children. You need to have a genuine interest in children and their parents.

professionalism: You must be organised, reliable and professional in your approach.

musical experience: You need to have musical experience, a good sense of pitch and rhythm and a clear, strong singing voice. You must love making music and be able to convey this to children and their parents. Formal qualifications are desirable, but not essential.

experience with children: This could take many forms - teaching, nannying, looking after your own child etc.

good communication skills: You will be dealing with both adults and children, and you need to be able to do this clearly, confidently and positively.

a sense of fun: The atmosphere of every class is set by the teacher and we look for a sense of fun, patience and the ability to include and interact with each individual child.

commitment: We need your commitment to Musical Steps and to the members of your classes.
